A Look Back at the Most Iconic James Bond Girls and Where They’ve Been since Their Time with 007

No 007 film would be the same without those stunning Bond girls that our favorite man of mystery has managed to encounter through the years. Whether they were damsels in distress, butt-kicking secret agents, or devious villains, we could always count on these women to make 007’s missions as action-packed as possible. The James Bond film series, based on the books by Ian Fleming, had to search far and wide to cast these iconic women.

From British models to Israeli pageant winners, the actresses taking on these Bond girls personas came from all over the world. However, landing a role in a 007 film doesn’t necessarily assure continued Hollywood success. While some went on to enjoy fruitful careers, others could not shake off their Bond girl character and were barely seen since. Here’s a look at what has happened since these iconic women joined the ranks of James Bond.

Tanya Roberts as Stacey Sutton, 1985

As a geologist working for the State of California, Stacey Sutton made the perfect ally for James Bond as together they set out to stop Max Zorin from destroying Silicon Valley. You will find Sutton in the 1985 film A View to a Kill. The role of Stacey went to American actress Tanya Roberts while Bond veteran, Roger Moore took on 007 name for the seventh and last time.

Before Bond, Roberts received her big break in 1976 when she landed the role of Julie Rogers in the final season of Charlie’s Angels. Many, however, will recognize Roberts as Midge Pinciotti from the hit series That ’70s Show. A role she took on from 1998 until 2004. Since then, other than a few small roles here and there, she has more or less stayed out of the limelight. Roberts tragically passed away in January 2021 at the young age of 65.

Honor Blackman as Pussy Galore, 1964

In the 1964 film, Goldfinger, James Bond is introduced to Pussy Galore, the personal pilot to Auric Goldfinger and the leader of the Flying Circus female aviator team. In the film, the butt-kicking pilot is played by the late British actress, Honor Blackman while Bond was played by Sean Connery. At 38 years old, Blackman was actually one of the oldest actresses to play a Bond girl.

Other than her time starring as Miss Galore, Blackman is also well known for the role of Cathy Gale in the 1960s television series, The Avengers. She also took on an extensive list of notable roles throughout her career such as Hera in the 1963 film Jason and the Argonauts. The actress passed away recently in April 2020 at the age of 94.

Eunice Gayson as Sylvia Trench, 1962

Popularly known as the first-ever Bond girl is the late British actress Eunice Gayson who took on the role of Bond’s recurring love interest, Sylvia Trench. Trench was featured both in Dr. No in 1962 and again in From Russia with Love the following year. Sean Connery held onto the role of Bond in both films. Following these roles, Gayson continued to act mainly as a regular in the London theater and with minor roles in television.

The Bond star also made a comeback in the early 90s appearing as the grandmother in the film Into The Woods. Gayson passed away in 2018 at the age of 90. In following in her mother’s footsteps, Gayson’s daughter, Kate also appears in a Bond film. She makes a quick cameo in the casino scene of 1995’s GoldenEye.

Maud Adams as Andrea Anders, 1974

It takes a certain type of woman to become the mistress to a professional assassin. Especially to one as nefarious as Francisco Scaramanga. So it only made sense when Andrea Anders called on James Bond to help get her out of that dangerous relationship. Miss Anders, whom you may recall from the 1974 film, The Man with the Golden Gun was played by Swedish actress Maud Adams.

Adams made such a good impression as Miss Anders that she was asked to return to the franchise for the 1983 film Octopussy as the lead and title character. Not only that but she also made a cameo as an extra in 1985’s A View to a Kill. Other than Bond, Adams has appeared in several European films and television shows and was the president of a cosmetics company. The now 75-year-old also guest-starred in an episode of That 70’s Show.

Zena Marshall as Miss Taro, 1962

We were introduced to Miss Taro in the film Dr. No where she acted as the henchman and informant to the film’s main antagonist, Dr. Julius No. The role, which the film significantly expanded from the character in the books, was played by the late actress Zena Marshall, who shared the screen with Sean Connery as Bond.

Marshall, who was born in Kenya but grew up in England, continued acting both in film and television following her time as Miss. Taro. Her last role was as Sandy Lund in the 1967 film The Terronauts. She passed away at the age of 83 in 2009.

Luciana Paluzzi as Fiona Volpe, 1965

Professional assassin and expert seductress, Fiona Volpe proved herself a force to be reckoned with in the 1965 film Thunderball. The eye-catching villain was played by actress Luciana Paluzzi, who if you could not tell by her name is originally from Italy. Paluzzi’s Bond co-star was Scottish actor, Sean Connery.

Paluzzi actually first auditioned for the role of Domino Derval however she was later pleasantly surprised by her experience playing the villainous Bond girl instead. Volpe continued to act up until the late 70s. Although now, at the age of 83, she is retired, her son Brett Halsey has followed in her footsteps. He is best known for his role as Douglas in The Godfather: Part III.

Kristina Wayborn as Magda, 1983

As Octopussy’s right-hand woman, Magda was entrusted with the task of seducing Bond in order to retrieve a precious and sought after Fabergé egg. As you might have assumed, Magda is depicted in the 1983 film, Octopussy. In the film, she is played by Swedish actress Kristina Wayborn, who shares the screen with Roger Moore as Bond.

Prior to this film, Wayborn was crowned as Miss Sweden in 1970 and not only became a semi-finalist in the Miss Universe pageant that same year she also earned the title of Miss Scandinavia in 1971. Since Bond, she has appeared in numerous television shows such as The Love Boat, General Hospital, Baywatch, and a guest appearance on That ’70s Show. Today she is 70 years old.

Corinne Cléry as Corinne Dufour, 1979

Just like many of the women that Bond encounters, Corrine Dufour, who is the personal pilot to wealthy industrialist Hugo Drax, gets swept away by the secret agent’s infamous charm which leads her towards an unfortunate fate. You can see this come to fruition in the 1979 film Moonraker.

In the film, Dufour is played by French actress Corinne Cléry while her Bond counterpart was played by Roger Moore. Since then, Cléry became popular in the Italian movie scene and her last project was released not too long ago in 2018. Today, she is 70 years old.

Daniela Bianchi as Tatiana Romanova, 1963

As the main Bond girl in the 1963 film, From Russia with Love, Soviet army corporal Tatiana Romanova definitely made an impression on the famed man of mystery. The role of the Russian temptress was portrayed by actress Daniela Bianchi, who in reality is not even Russian but Italian. In the film, Bianchi played opposite Sean Connery as Bond.

The Italian actress and model first made waves as the runner up in the 1960 Miss Universe competition. From Russia with Love acted as her debut into film and she continued her career up until 1970 when she retired to marry a Genoan shipping magnate. Bianchi stayed out of the limelight up until 2012 when she appeared in the documentary We’re Nothing Like James Bond. Today she is 78 years old.

Mie Hama as Kissy Suzuki, 1967

Kissy Suzuki is an Ama diver featured in the 1967 film, You Only Live Twice. In the film, Kissy stages a wedding with Bond in order to help him stay undercover in Japan. For those who don’t know, Ama divers are Japanese divers who are famous for collecting pearls. And in real life, most of the divers are actually women.

By the time Hama was cast in the Bond film, which starred Sean Connery as Bond, she had already been in over 60 feature films in Japan. In fact, she was one of the most in-demand actresses in Japan throughout her career, up until the late 80s. She then went on to author 14 books as well as become a television and radio host. Today she is 76 years old.

Caroline Munro as Naomi, 1977

Naomi is the glamorous and seductive helicopter pilot as well as the personal assistant to shipping magnate Karl Stromberg. And it doesn’t take long to find out that Naomi, like many Bond girls before her, is up to no good. We can see her in action in the 1977 film The Spy Who Loved Me with Roger Moore as Bond. She was played by British actress Caroline Munro.

In her heyday, Munro had quite a reputation as the queen of the horror, science fiction genre. She is well known for her roles in action-packed films such as 1978’s Starcrash and the 1980 slasher film Maniac. Munro also made a name for herself as a popular 80s pinup girl. Today at 71, she still continues to act.

Claudine Auger as Domino Derval, 1965

Any true 007 fans will remember, Domino Derval, James Bond’s love interest in the 1965 film, Thunderball. Domino was not only able to capture Bond’s heart, but also save his life. The role of this gorgeous heroine was played by French actress Claudine Auger while Bond was played by Sean Connery. Domino was originally meant to be an Italian character however she was changed to French after Auger’s impressive audition.

Following Bond, Auger went on to have a successful career in European films that maintained its momentum up until the mid-90s. She also made an appearance in the Danny Thomas special, The Road to Lebanon which featured Bing Crosby. Auger passed away in 2019 at the age of 78.

Martine Beswick as Zora, 1963

We meet Zora, the tough gypsy girl In the 1963 film From Russia with Love where she is seen fighting for the love of the chief’s son. Zora is played by Jamaican/ British actress Martine Beswick who is joined by Sean Connery as 007. Beswick also returns to the Bond franchise in 1965 to star in the film Thunderball.

Besides her roles in these two Bond films, Beswick also stared in several notable films throughout the 60s including the 1966 film A Bullet for The General. She maintained a successful career well into the 90s and is now semiretired, most recently appearing in the 2018 film House of the Gorgon. Today, at 79, she still makes appearances at international Bond conventions.

Britt Ekland as Mary Goodnight, 1974

Secret Service staffer Mary Goodnight is the main Bond girl in the 1974 film The Man with the Golden Gun. Goodnight was played by Swedish actress and singer Britt Ekland while Bond was played by English actor, Roger Morre. Eckland, a well-known 70s star is most recognized for her roles in Get Carter as well as the cult classic, Wickerman.

Prior to becoming a Bond girl, Ekland was already making huge waves in Hollywood and her momentum only continued into the 70s. This was in part due to her highly publicized relationship with actor Peter Sellers which led her to become one of the most photographed celebrities of the 1970s. The now 78-year-old actor has since published a best-selling autobiography and her last acting credit dates back to 2006.

Shirley Eaton as Jill Masterson, 1964

Bond girl, Jill Masterson is popularly known among 007 fans for her bizarre and untimely death, depicted in the scene where Bond discovers her laying on the bed covered in gold paint. The scene is found in the 1964 film, Goldfinger, with a young Sean Connery assuming the role of Bond. Masterson was played by British actress Shirley Eaton.

Eaton was a regular in the British film scene throughout the 50s and 60s however she decided to retire at end of the 60s in order to focus on family life. She recently, in 2001, made a brief comeback with an appearance in the short film, Everdream. Today she is 83 years old.

Gloria Hendry as Rosie Carver, 1973

CIA operative Rosie Carver, who is later revealed to be a double agent, is a character that appears in the 1973 film, Live and Let Die. Carver is played by American actress and former Playboy model Gloria Hendry while 007 is played by Roger Moore. Other than the Bond film, Hendry is also well known for starring in the 1973 blaxploitation film, Black Caesar as well as the 1974 film Black Belt Jones.

Hendry is now 71 years old and has authored a memoir titled Gloria. In it, she writes about her experience in the Bond film as well as what it was like working as a Playboy Bunny and her experiences working in show business as an African American woman in the 60s.

Lynn-Holly Johnson as Bibi Dahl, 1981

Bibi Dahl is the innocent and charming professional ice-skater who also happens to be the niece of Greek smuggler Aris Kristatos. Naturally, Bibi can’t help but fall for James Bond after meeting him for the first time, an encounter seen in the 1981 film For Your Eyes Only, starring Roger Moore as Bond.

The role of Bibi Dahl is played by American professional figure skater and actress Lynn-Holly Johnson. This was the second time that Johnson got to use her skating skills in a film. The first being in 1978’s Ice Castle which earned her a Golden Globe nomination. The competitive skater turned actress gave up acting in the 90s. Today she is 60 years old.

Margaret Nolan as Dink, 1964

Appearing in the 1964 film Goldfinger was Dink, a masseuse working at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach Hotel. Although her appearance was brief, she certainly qualifies as one of the Bond girls worth remembering. The role of Dink was portrayed by the late British actress and model Margaret Nolan, who shared the screen with Sean Connery as Bond.

Nolan can also be seen in The Beatles musical comedy film A Hard Day’s Night, which released back in 1964. You will also see her in a long list of big screen projects that she took on throughout her career, which extended well into the 80s. In addition to her acting and modeling career, Nolan was also a visual artist and held many exhibits in London. The star lost her battle with cancer in October 2020 at the age of 76.

Diana Rigg as Tracy Bond, 1969

As the only character able to put a ring on the hand of the infamous womanizer, Tracy Bond aka Countess Teresa di Vicenzo, surely made an impression. Mrs. Bond is featured in the 1969 film On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. She was played by the late British stage and screen actress Diana Rigg while the role of Bond was passed on to Australian actor George Lazenby.

Many will recoginze Rigg from one of her more recent roles, Olenna Tyrell from the hit HBO series Game of Thrones. She is also well known as Emma Peel from the TV series The Avengers. Rigg had a very extensive career both on the stage and in TV and film. She is a Tony Award and BAFTA TV Award-winning actress and she continued shining in her career until September 2020 when she passed away at the age of 82.

Barbara Bach as Anya Amasova, 1977

In the 1977 film, The Spy Who Loved Me, starring Roger Moore, we are introduced to Soviet intelligence operative, Major Anya Amasova, who quickly proves herself to be much more than a pretty face. The fearless agent is played by American actress and model, Barbara Bach who today if you can believe it, is 74 years old.

Although she is a star in her own right, Bach is known to many as the wife of Beatles drummer Ringo Starr. As a model, she has graced the covers of magazines such as Vogue and Elle and is known to be one of the most sought after faces of the 60s. Her acting credits since Bond include the TV mini-series Odissea as well as several films that date up to the late 80s.

Martine Beswick as Paula Caplan, 1965

British Secret Service operative Paula Caplan made a memorable appearance in the 1965 film Thunderball. She was played by Martine Beswick and if that name sounds familiar that is because this was Beswick’s second Bond appearance, first starring in the 1963 film, From Russia with Love. In both films, she played opposite Sean Connery as her Bond counterpart.

Beswick, an English actress, and model with Portuguese-Jamaican roots went on to enjoy a successful acting career both in film and in television that carried on into the 90s. She even made some appearances in recent years. In 2013 she was a guest judge on BBC’s Masterchef, along with 12 of her fellow Bond Girls and in 2018 she starred in the film House of The Gorgon. Today, at 79, she seems to have retired from acting.

Aliza Gur as Vida, 1963

Seen fighting against fellow gypsy girl Zora in order to earn the heart of the chief’s son in the 1963 film From Russia with Love is the ever so beautiful Vida. And she would have won too if their fight didn’t get abruptly interrupted. Vida is played by Israeli actress Aliza Gur with Sean Connery as Bond.

Gur first began winning over hearts in 1960 when she took the crown as Miss Israel and became a semi-finalist in the Miss Universe contest. Funny enough, she actually shared a room with Miss Italy Daniela Bianchi who would later become her co-star in the James Bond film. Gur went on to star in a number of films and shows throughout the 60s and 70s, including the 1968 film Tarzan and the Jungle Boy. Today she is 80 years young.

Jane Seymour as Solitaire, 1973

Solitaire, the psychic medium, is a major character in the 1973 film Live and Let Die, starring Roger Moore. In the film, we see how her attraction to Bond results in the loss of her psychic powers, therefore putting her life at risk. The role of Solitaire is played by acclaimed British-American actress Jane Seymour. Seymour’s appearance in the Bond film put her on the map as an international star.

Since then she has become a recipient of an Emmy Award, two Golden Globe Awards, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The now 69-year-old actress has a long list of impressive acting credits which continues to grow. Seymour is most well known for her roles in Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, Somewhere in Time, and Wedding Crashers.

Molly Peters as Patricia Fearing, 1965

Bond girl Patricia Fearing is seen in the 1965 film Thunderball as a nurse looking after Bond after he is admitted to the Shrublands Health Clinic. Sharing the screen with Sean Connery in the film was the late British actress and former model Molly Peters. That same year she was also featured in a Playboy pictorial titled “James Bond Girls.”

Peters appeared in several films in the 60s however her career was short-lived following Thunderball. She largely blames her contractual agreement with the successful Bond film which she claims kept her from booking major roles for years following. The actress passed away in 2017 at the age of 78.

Tania Mallet as Tilly Masterson, 1964

Seen seeking revenge for the death of her sister Jill, Tilly Masterson is another Bond girl featured in the 1964 film Goldfinger. Tilly was played by the late British actress, Tania Mallet while the role of Bond was still secured by Sean Connery. Fun fact; Mallet is actually first cousins with Hollywood A-lister Helen Mirren.

Mallet originally auditioned for the role of Tatiana Romanova in From Russia with Love but was instead cast in Goldfinger a year later. This was Mallet’s only major film however she also had a successful career as a model, appearing twice on the cover of Vogue. Mallet passed away in 2019 at the age of 77.

Lois Chiles as Holly Goodhead, 1979

CIA agent Dr. Holly Goodhead can be seen fighting the band guys alongside James Bond in the 1979 film Moonraker. The role of Goodhead was played by American actress and fashion model Lois Chiles, who shared the screen opposite Roger Moore as Bond.

Following Moonraker, Chiles continued acting well into the early 2000s. Some of her more notable films include 1987’s Broadcast News and 1997’s Speed 2: Cruise Control. Since seemingly retiring from acting, Chiles also dipped her toes in teaching, leading a course at the University of Houston in 2002. Today she is 73 years old.

Trina Parks as Thumper, 1971

Acting as one of two bikini-clad guards keeping anyone from seeing the self-isolated Willard Whyte is Thumper, seen in the 1971 film Diamonds Are Forever. Thumper is played by actress and dancer Trina Parks with Sean Connery as Bond. Parks made history with this role as the first African-American Bond girl.

In addition to her acting career, appearing in films such as 1975’s Darktown Strutters and this years 111 the Force, Parks is also an accomplished dancer and choreographer. Today she is 72 years old but as you can see, she doesn’t look a day older than she did in her Bond girl era.

Olga Bisera as Felicca, 1977

Tasked with the order of entertaining and distracting Bond, Felicca, who was the acting secretary to Egyptian black market trader Aziz Fekkesh, seemed more than up for the job. Unfortunately, like most events that surround 007, that simple task got dangerous pretty quick. This scene with Felicca is found in the 1977 film The Spy Who Loved Me with Roger Moore as Bond.

The role of Felicca was played by Italian film actress and producer, Olga Bisera. In the 70s, Bisera was a popular star in Italian cinema however her international acting credits are limited. She decided to retire from show business in the early 80s. Today she is 76 years old and is still living her life away from the limelight.

Tsai Chin as Ling, 1967

Ling the villainous spy is featured in the pre-credit sequence of the 1967 Sean Connery film, You Only Live Twice where she is seen attempting to assassin Bond. Ling is played by Chinese/English actress Tsai Chin. Chin went on to have long-lasting success spanning three continents. This included her career in film, stage productions, and in music. The actress is most well known for her role as Lindo in the 1993 film, The Joy Luck Club.

You might also recognize her for appearances in films such as Memoirs of a Geisha, Now You See Me 2, and revisiting the Bond franchise in 2006’s Casino Royale. Chin is also very famous in China, both as an actress, a chart-topping singer. Not only that but she has also performed on Broadway and in London’s West End Theater. Today she is 86 years old and her career shows no signs of slowing down.

Carole Bouquet as Melina Havelock, 1981

As the daughter of British marine archaeologist Sir Timothy, it only makes sense that Melina Havelock’s sensual scene with James Bond occurred during a moonlight swim. And props to her for getting creative as she is surprisingly the only Bond girl to ever suggest going skinny dipping with the spy. And you’d think by know he’s done it all. You can catch this scene and more of Havelock in the 1981 film For Your Eyes Only.

The role was played by French actress and fashion model Carole Bouquet who shared the screen with Roger Moore as Bond. After the film Bouquet focused predominantly on her modeling, becoming the face of Chanel No. 5 from 1986 to 1977. She also starred in a collection of mainly French films, including 1989’s Too Beautiful for You which earned her the César Award for Best Actress. Today she is 63 and is still taking on roles.

Karin Dor as Helga Brandt, 1967

Helga Brandt, also known as Number 11, is the mysterious femme fatale featured in the 1967 film You Only Live Twice. As the personal assistant to the villainous Japanese industrialist, Mr. Osato, Brandt became another Bond girl set out to defeat 007. The red-haired vixen was portrayed by the late German actress Karin Dor and she was joined on the screen by Sean Connery.

The casting team originally wanted Number 11 to be blonde however they compromised by dying Dor’s naturally brunette hair to the red color you see in the film. Dor’s career outside of the Bond film was mainly in German stage productions and films. You might also recognize her from the 1969 Alfred Hitchcock film Topaz. The late actress passed away in 2017 at the age of 79.

Angela Scoular as Ruby Bartlett, 1969

Ruby Bartlett is featured in the 1969 George Lazenby film On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. In the film, her character is a patient at Ernst Stavro Blofeld’s clinical allergy-research institute in Switzerland who is brainwashed into becoming a sleeper agent. The role is portrayed by the late British actress Angela Scoular.

This was Scoular’s second Bond appearance as she also played the role of Buttercup in the 1967 comedy, Casino Royale. She is also well known for her role as Claire in the 1968 slapstick comedy Great Catherine. Scoular passed away in 2011 at the age of 65.

Jill St. John as Tiffany Case, 1971

Diamond smuggler Tiffany Case definitely stood out among the Bond girls before her. With her loud, out-spoken personality, it’s no wonder she made such an impression on Bond. The role of this wise-cracking love interest, seen in the 1971 Sean Connery film, Diamonds Are Forever, was played by actress Jill St. John. John made history with the role as the first American actress to ever play a Bond girl.

She is a Golden Globe-nominated actress, well known for her roles in notable comedies such as Come Blow Your Horn, co-starring alongside Frank Sinatra. She also appeared in hit shows like The Love Boat and Seinfeld and her reputation as “the sexy comedienne,” as she puts it, extended until 2014. In her later career, John became a culinary personality, releasing cooking segments as well as a cookbook. Today she is 80 years old.

Catherine Schell as Nancy, 1969

Nancy, a Hungarian patient at a clinical allergy institute in the Swiss Alps, is yet another character that captures the attention of James Bond. She is seen in the 1969 film On Her Majesty’s Secret Service where she is played by Hungarian born actress Catherine Schell with George Lazenby as Bond. Schell has long been a prominent actress in the British acting scene.

She is popularly known through her roles in British programs such as Space:1999 and Doctor Who and in films such as 1975’s The Return of the Pink Panther. The actress retired in the mid-90s to open a guesthouse in France, which became a popular stop for Space:1999 fans. She did however come out of retirement in 2020 to star in the BBC One/ Netflix series Dracula.

Lana Wood as Plenty O’Toole, 1971

Casino floor worker Plenty O’Toole was far from shying away from Bond’s attention in the 1971 Sean Connery film Diamonds Are Forever. She was portrayed by Russian born American actress turned film producer Lana Wood. Wood is popularly known for her role as Sandy Webber in the series Peyton Place.

She is also recognized as the sister Golden Globe award winning actress the late Natalie Wood. Lana was discovered for the role of Plenty after modeling for the April 1971 issue of Playboy. She then went on to enjoy a career in acting that today, at the age of 74 is still on going.

Grace Jones as May Day, 1985

May Day, seen in the 1985 film A View to a Kill is not only the lover of billionaire industrialist Max Zorin. She is also his bodyguard and his trained assassin. So in short, you don’t want to get in this woman’s way. The role of Bond was taken on by actor Roger Moore, making it his seventh and last time as 007. And the name behind May Day’s character is an 80s icon that needs little introduction.

Award-winning Jamaican model, musician, and actress Grace Jones has become an inspiration for many since she took on the world in the 80s. So it only made sense that she add the title of Bond girl to her long list of accomplishments. And she has not slowed down much since then either. Today she is 72 years old and is still taking on new projects both in acting and in music.

Denise Perrier as Marie, 1971

In a brief but memorable scene in the 1971 film Diamonds Are Forever, we see the beautiful Marie, who after not much persuasion, reveals to Bond the location of the film’s main antagonist. Although uncredited, the role of Marie was played by beauty queen Denise Perrier.

Perrier is mostly known for being the only French woman to win Miss World, a title that she earned in 1953. Although she appeared in a few films before Diamonds Are Forever, the Bond film was her last acting credit. She is also a former model and has since become active in her local government in France and has acted as a judge at four Miss World contests.

Carmen Du Sautoy as Saida, 1974

Saida the Lebanese belly dancer and former mistress to the late agent 002, can be seen in the 1974 film The Man with the Golden Gun. The role of the dancing temptress was portrayed by British actress Carmen Du Sautoy. You might recognize Sautoy from her latest role in the 2018 Hallmark film Royally Ever After.

Sautoy is most widely known for her extensive television career as well as her roles in stage productions that span all over the world. Some of her most notable projects include the 006 mini-series The Line of Beauty and the 1980s series Astronauts. Today she is 70 years old.

Sue Vanner as Log Cabin Girl, 1977

We see this unnamed Bond girl in the sultry opening sequence of the 1977 Roger Moore film, The Spy Who Loved Me, where she is hired by the KGB as bait in order to capture 007. Yes, her role might have been minor but we still feel like her scene perfectly epitomizes all that we love about the James Bond series. Playing the role of “Log Cabin Girl,” as she was officially credited, was English actress Sue Vanner.

Vanner’s other acting credits include the 1979 television miniseries A Man Called Intrepid and the 1984 Kenneth Colley film Return to Waterloo. Today she is 69 years old and after a very publicized split from property tycoon Warren Todd, she has decided to focus on what she says is her first passion, music. She released her LP In These Shoes this past February 2020.

Emily Bolton as Manuela, 1979

Despite her brief time spent with the agent, Brazilian intelligence operative Manuela was a key player in helping Bond track down the villainous Hugo Drax. Manuela’s encounter with Bond can be seen in the 1979 film Moonraker, starring Roger Moore as Bond.

Manuela was played by Aruban actress Emily Bolton. Bolton is now 69 years old. She is also known for her roles in the series Tenko and Capital City. It seems that today she is has put her acting days behind her and rumor has it she is instead working behind the scenes as a talent agent.

Nadja Regin as Bonita, 1964

Bonita, the alluring belly dancer is seen in the pre-title sequence of the 1964 film Goldfinger. But like most beautiful women in the world of Bond, there’s a lot more to her than meets the eye. Bonita was played by the late Serbian actress Nadja Regin. This was actually one of two Bond appearances for Regin as she also appeared in the 1963 film From Russia with Love as Kerim Bey’s mistress.

Other than her Bond girl days, Regin enjoyed an active career Internationally, starring in films from Germany and New Zealand as well as in a number of British television series. Regin also owned a publishing company with her sister and authored several of her own books. The actress passed away in 2019 at the age of 87.

Cassandra Harris as Countess Lisl von Schlaf, 1981

Countess Lisl von Schlaf, the ill-fated mistress of Greek smuggler Milos Columbo, is first seen after being sent to seduce and gather information from James Bond. This exchange took place in the 1981 film For Your Eyes Only, where the Countess is played by the late Australian actress Cassandra Harris with Roger Moore taking on the role of Bond.

Tragically, at the age of 43, Harris lost her battle to ovarian cancer only ten years after For Your Eyes Only. Her last major project before her passing was the TV series Remington Steele where she starred alongside her husband, Pierce Brosnan. Brosnan assumed the starring role of James Bond starting in 1995 and held onto that title until 2002.

Halley Berry as Jinx, 2002

NSA operative, Giacinta ‘Jinx’ Johnson is seen teaming up with Bond in the 2002 film Die Another Day. In the film we find Jinx going after Zao, a rogue North Korean agent, which just so happens to be the same person that Bond is on a mission to track down. Most will recognize the actress taking on the role of this stunning Bond girl as Hollywood superstar, Halle Berry.

She was joined on the screen by Pierce Brosnan, who starred as Bond for the fourth and final time. Just like Jinx, Berry has proven herself a force to be reckoned with many times over. In the 2000s, she was one of the highest-paid actresses in Hollywood and since then has continued to star in a long list of films, including a reoccurring role as Storm in the X-Men film series. Although she looks like she hasn’t aged a day, today Berry is 54 years old.

Madeline Smith as Miss Caruso, 1973

Italian agent Miss Caruso is another Bond girl from the 1973 film Live and Let Die. And while her time with Bond is short and sweet, that doesn’t make her role any less memorable. That’s all thanks to English actress Madeline Smith, who took on the role of Caruso, sharing the screen with Roger Moore as Bond.

Since her time canoodling with the man of mystery, Smith continued to make a name for herself both on the stage and in television and film. Today Smith is 71 years old and is continuing her acting career. Her latest role was as Alison in the 2020 comedy short, Crazy Bitch Blues.

Eva Green as Vesper Lynd, 2006

In the 2006 film Casino Royale, Vesper Lynd is the foreign liaison agent sent by Her Majesty’s Treasury. We soon find out that there is a lot more to Lynd that meets the eye and she becomes one of Bond’s only romantic interests to also be a fellow intelligence agent. Taking on the portrayal of this intricate character is French actress, Eva Green. In the film, Green is partnered with Daniel Craig as Bond, making it his debut as the M16 agent.

Since Casino Royale, Green has starred in several films, both big-name and independent. Some of her most memorable roles through the years include Artemisia in 300: Rise of an Empire, and Ava Lord in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. She also starred in the series Penny Dreadful, which earned her a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Television Series. Today Green is 40 years old and she shows no signs of slowing down.

Fiona Fullerton as Pola Ivanova, 1985

Who can forget soviet intelligence operative, Pola Ivanova, who is introduced in the 1985 film A View to a Kill? If you recall, Ivanova was sent by the KBG to spy on former-operative Max Zorin. Naturally, she and Bond end up mixing business and pleasure during her mission, all as a mutual ruse to outsmart the other.

Acting alongside Roger Moore as Bond, Ivanova was played by British actress Fiona Fullerton. In her later years, Fullerton drifted away from the limelight, and today, at 65 years old, she owns a property company in London. She also writes a series of columns on property investing and is a brand ambassador for a home improvement site website.

Rosamund Pike as Miranda Frost, 2002

Intelligence operative turned diamond thief, Miranda Frost, proved herself a force to be reckoned with in the 2002 film Die Another Day. And not just anyone can pull off playing this money-hungry double agent. That’s where acclaimed English actress Rosamund Pike comes in. Pike was joined on screen by Pierce Brosnan as Bond. Miranda Frost was just the start for Pike as she has not stopped impressing critics and audiences since.

In 2005 she played Jane Bennet in Pride and Prejudice and in 2012 she joined Tom Cruise in the film Jack Reacher. Most recognize the star for her leading role in the 2014 film Gone Girl, which earned her the Saturn Award for Best Actress and an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress. Pike also received a Golden Globe nomination in 2018 for her role in A Private War and in 2019 she won an Emmy Award for her role in State of the Union.

Maryam d’Abo as Kara Milovy, 1987

After Kara Milovy the Czechoslovakian cellist and girlfriend to rogue Soviet General Georgi Koskov is first introduced in the 1987 film The Living Daylights, it soon becomes hard to track what side she’s even on. And portraying this love interest/ would-be sniper is British actress Maryam d’Abo. She is joined by Timothy Dalton taking on his first of two stints as James Bond.

Other than her role in the Bond film, d’Abo is probably most recognized for her role in the 2003 Emmy-nominated miniseries Helen of Troy. She also starred alongside Keira Knightley in the 2002 television miniseries, Doctor Zhivago. Today she is 69 years old and although she seems to be working less these days, she does continue to take on new projects both in television and in film.

Serena Scott Thomas as Dr. Molly Warmflash, 1999

Dr. Molly Warmflash is the M16 employed physician seen in the 1999 film The World Is Not Enough. In the film, Bond played by Pierce Brosnan seduces the doctor in order to convince her to declare him fit for duty. As always, his moves worked and he was back in action

The role of Warmflash was played by English actress Serena Scott Thomas. You might recognize Thomas from the 2005 Bruce Willis film, Hostage. She is also well known as Sloane in the 2014 film Inherent Vice. These days the 59-year-old actress continues to take on projects, most recently appearing in the 2020 film, Rolling Thunder.

Carey Lowell as Pam Bouvier, 1989

CIA informer and former U.S army pilot Pam Bouvier appears as the main Bond girl in the 1989 film Licence to Kill. The role of Bouvier was played by American actress and former model Carey Lowell. Lowell described this experience as having “huge shoes to fill” as she did not see herself as glamorous as the Bond girls before her.

Well, we think she definitely did the Bond girl title justice. Since her role as Bouvier, she had a brief two-season stint in the crime drama series Law & Order: Trial by Jury. She then stepped away from acting although she has made occasional appearances in shows like Blue Bloods and Bull.

Sophie Marceau as Elektra King, 1999

As a daughter of an oil tycoon, it’s probably only a matter of time before you become the main antagonist in a Bond film. And such is the case with the vindictive Elektra King, seen in the 1999 film The World is Not Enough. King is played by French actress Sophie Marceau.

Prior to becoming an evil Bond girl and starring alongside Bond legend, Pierce Brosnan, Sophie Marceau was already a European superstar. Afterward, she continued to star in a number of projects, namely in French films. Today she is 53 years old and in addition to her acting, she also has director, screenwriter, and author to add to her resume.

Talisa Soto as Lupe Lamora, 1989

There is definitely something to be said about Lupe Lamora’s taste in men, even if she does eventually come to her senses. In the 1989 film, Licence to Kill we see this Bond girl booed up with Latin American drug lord Franz Sanchez. Lamora is played by the sultry American actress and former model, Talisa Soto. She is joined on screen by Timothy Dalton as Bond.

Soto, who is now 53, is most well known for her role as Princess Kitana in the 1995 action film, Mortal Kombat, and its 1997 sequel. These days she seems to have retired from acting but not before starring alongside names like Lucy Liu, Antonio Banderas, and Johnny Depp throughout her career. If you don’t know her from her own work, you might recognize Soto for being married to Miss Congeniality actor Benjamin Bratt.

Denise Richards as Christmas Jones, 1999

How many of you actually remember when American actress and television personality Denise Richards starred as Bond girl Christmas Jones in the 1999 film, The World Is Not Enough. If you recall, you know Jones was a nuclear physicist working in Russia to dismantle nuclear warheads. She encounters Bond, played by Pierce Brosnan, who is posing as a Russian nuclear scientist.

Since Bond, Richards has become a well-known star. She has a long list of popular films under her belt, including hits like Wild Things (1998) and Love Actually (2003). She also starred in several series such as The Bold and The Beautiful and The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, just to name a few. Today she is 49 years old and is not shying away from the limelight and she is even a published author on the New York Times best-seller list.

Izabella Scorupco as Natalya Simonova, 1995

After just one look at Russian programmer, Natalya Simonova, it’s really no wonder she managed to catch Bond’s attention. But as we know, she’s not just a pretty face. Simonova is also a Level 2 programmer and when push comes to shove, she’s a strong, independent, survivalist as well.

Simonova, who we see in the 1995 film GoldenEye, starring a young Pierce Brosnan as Bond, is portrayed by Polish-Swedish actress Izabella Scorupco. And just like her Bond girl character, Scorupco is a woman of many talents. In addition to her acting career, she is also a model and a singer, known for her hit European song “Shame, Shame, Shame.” Today she is 50 years old and still takes on projects in Europe.

Teri Hatcher as Paris Carver, 1997

Before Paris Carver became the wife of British media baron and criminal, she was actually once a lover to James Bond, who had left her behind two months into their relationship. So naturally, she was not so happy to run into him investigating her new husband. The role of this beautiful bond girl was played by American actress Teri Hatcher. Hatcher has come a long way since becoming a Bond girl, starring alongside actor Pierce Brosnan.

Today she is an award winning actress, writer and singer. Even before Bond, she was best known for her role as Lois Lane on the television series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. But now most know her as Susan Mayer from the hit series Desperate Housewives. This role earned her a Golden Globe Award, three Screen Actors Guild Awards and a Primetime Emmy nomination. Not too shabby Ms. Hatcher.

Famke Janssen as Xenia Onatopp, 1995

Seen as Bond’s main antagonist in the 1995 film GoldenEye is the Soviet fighter pilot Xenia Onatopp. And don’t let her looks deceive you. This woman is a ruthless assassin who will stop at nothing to get what she wants. Playing the role of Bond’s counterpart, sharing the screen with Pierce Brosnan was Dutch actress Famke Janssen.

For Marvel fans, Janssen is best known as Jean Grey / Phoenix in the X-Men film series, a role she took on from 2000 until 2014. She is also famous for starring in hit shows like The Blacklist and How to Get Away with Murder. Today she is 55 years old and she has also made her debut as a director and a screenwriter and has been appointed a Goodwill Ambassador for Integrity by the United Nations.

Michelle Yeoh as Wai Lin, 1999

Wai Lin is a Chinese secret agent seen in the 1999 film Tomorrow Never Dies. She is an operative sent to investigate the disappearance of stealth material that is connected to an evil plot to start a war between the UK and China. And wouldn’t you guessed it, Bond is sent to investigate the same case. The two inevitably cross paths and join forces. Wai Lin is played by Chinese-Malaysian actress Michelle Yeoh.

Yeoh shares the screen with Pierce Brosnan as James Bond. The star is famously known for her role in the 2000 martial arts film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Most recently she was also seen in the 2018 American romantic comedy-drama film, Crazy Rich Asians. Her other works include Memoirs of a Geisha (2005) and Star Trek: Discovery (2017). Today she is 58 years old and is still making movies left and right.

Ursula Andress as Honey Rider, 1962

Setting the bar high as one of the first Bond girl to grace our screens was Swiss actress Ursula Andress who took on the role of the gorgeous shell-diver, Honey Rider. Rider was featured in the 1962 film Dr. No, where she shared the screen with Sean Connery as Bond. And in the film, she managed to captivate audiences the moment she stepped out of the sea with her white bikini and no-nonsense hunting knife at her side.

Since her breakthrough role as Honey Rider, whom many recognize as “The Original Bond” girl, Andress has appeared in numerous American, British and Italian films. She even returned to the world of James Bond in the 1967 parody film Casino Royale. Today the actress and former model is 84 years old and she has not taken on any new projects since 2005.

Maud Adams as Octopussy, 1983

As evident in the title, jewel smuggler Octopussy is the main antagonist as well as the main Bond girl in the 1983 film Octopussy. She is played by Swedish actress Maud Adams and is joined by Roger Moore, making it his sixth film as Bond. This was Adam’s second appearance in a Bond film, the first being in the 1974 film The Man with the Golden Gun.

The actress also made a quick cameo in the 1985 Bond flick, A View to a Kill. Other than her experience in the Bond franchise, Adams mostly appeared in European films and shows. She has also taken on guest star roles like the time she joined fellow Bond girl veterans Tanya Roberts, Kristina Wayborn, and Barbara Carrera on an episode of That 70’s Show in 2000.

Mary Stävin as Kimberley Jones, 1985

We meet Kimberley Jones in the pre-title sequence of the 1985 film, A View To Kill. In the scene, Bond, played by Roger Moore, is seen snowboarding down a mountainside, nearly escaping his soviet pursuers. At the end of his chase awaits Jones, a rookie M16 agent. The pair then set sail on a five-day journey to Alaska, fully equipped with caviar and vodka.

Jones is portrayed by Swedish actress Mary Stävin. Just like many other Bond girls, Stävin was also a model and a beauty queen and was crowned Miss World in 1977. In addition to A View to Kill, the actress also made a brief appearance in the 1983 Bond film, Octopussy. Stävin went on to star in a few other films however her acting career was relatively brief. She also released an exercise album titled Shape Up and Dance.

Rachel Grant as Peaceful Fountains of Desire, 2002

Chinese intelligence operative, Peaceful Fountains of Desire almost had us all fooled when she disguised herself as a masseuse at the Royal Rubyeon Hotel in Hong Kong. In the 2002 film, Die Another Day, Peaceful is sent to retract information from Bond, but Bond, always one step ahead, figured out her ruse.

In the film Bond was played by Pierce Brosnan while English-Philippines actress, Rachel Grant took on the role of the seductive Peaceful. Grant went on to star in several productions both in television and film. Most recently she can be seen in the 2017 film Snatchers.

Gemma Arterton as Strawberry Fields, 2008

Assigned with the job of stopping Bond from disobeying orders, intelligence operative Strawberry Fields was determined to bring Bond back to London from Bolivia. However, just like most women he encounters, Fields was no match for 007’s charm, and the two end up spending the night together. We get to see Fields in action in the 2008 film, Quantum of Solace, where she is portrayed by English actress Gemma Arterton.

For Arterton, becoming a Bond girl and sharing the screen with Daniel Craig was just the start of her career. These days she is well known for her roles in 2010’s Prince of Persia and Clash of the Titans. However, these are just a couple of examples from a long list of projects. With lots in the works, we are sure to see much more of Arterton in the coming years.

Caterina Murino as Solange Dimitrios, 2006

You might remember Solange Dimitrios as the wife of Greek criminal operative Alex Dimitrios. As we see in the 2006 film, Casino Royale, Dimitrios’s marital status was not enough to phase the womanizing James Bond. She catches his eye while horseback riding on the beach and they later meet again at her husband’s poker game, after which she confesses her discontentment with her marriage.

Taking on the role of the unhappy wife was Italian actress, Caterina Murino. Her filmography consists of projects both in English and in Italian. You might have caught her starring alongside Emilia Clarke in the 2017 film, Voice From The Stone.

Olga Kurylenko as Camille Montes, 2008

In the 2008 film Quantum of Solace, Camille Montes Rivero is a Bolivian Secret Service operative determined to avenge her family, who had been murdered by an evil dictator when she was just a child. Naturally, as she is a beautiful and exotic spy, Montes crosses paths and later joins forces with Bond in order to achieve her goal of killing Medrano, the man that killed her family.

In the film, the role of Montes is portrayed by Ukrainian-French actress Olga Kurylenko while Bond was played by Daniel Craig. Kurylenko had gained quite a reputation as a naturally beautiful seductress, even before taking on a role as a Bond girl. However, the role of Camille has been her biggest role to date. In 2013, she also starred in the Sci-Fi adventure film Oblivion, opposite Tim Cruise and Morgan Freeman.

Serena Gordon as Caroline, 1995

Caroline is an M16 psychologist who is assigned to evaluate Bond on his aptitude. During her evaluation, she unintentionally joins the spy in a high-speed car chase and is then quickly seduced by his charm and a chilled bottle of Bollinger. This of course helps Bond pass his evaluation with flying colors.

Caroline, portrayed by Engish actress Serena Gordon, is seen in 1995, GoldenEye, with Pierce Brosnan as Bond. Gordon’s acting experience mostly comes from her time on the stage. She has made appearances in several television programs but is mostly known for her time playing Amanda Prosser in the police drama The Bill.

Lola Larson as Bambi, 1971

Bambi is one of two women tasked with guarding the imprisoned billionaire Willard Whyte. And it doesn’t take Bond long to find out how Bambi received this assignment. Her acrobatic fighting skills are enough to keep any man down, every man except for Bond of course.

Bambi is seen in the 1971 film Diamonds are Forever, with the role of Bond portrayed by Sean Connery. The role was portrayed by actress and singer Lola Larson. It seems her career on the silver screen started and ended with her role in the Bond film as she has had no credited role since.

Bérénice Marlohe as Sévérine, 2012

The troubled and seductive anti-heroine, Sévérine, portrayed in the 2012 film Skyfall is yet another femme fatale to catch Bond’s eye. While she initially sees Bond as an enemy, Sévérine quickly realizes that the secret agent man could be her ticket to a better life.

Sévérine is portrayed by French actress Bérénice Marlohe and she is joined on screen by Daniel Craig as Bond. Before Skyfall, Marlohe mainly played in French films however her time as a Bond girl opened doors for her to international audiences. Since then, she has starred in the 2015 film 5 to 7 as well as the 2017 film Song to Song where she shared the screen with Ryan Gosling, Natalie Portman, and Rooney Mara.

Cecilie Thomsen as Professor Inga Bergstrom, 1997

Oxford University Professor, Inga Bergstrom meets Bond in the 1997 film Tomorrow Never Dies. And leave it to 007 to take full advantage of his office hours with Bergstrom. Their time together was short-lived and rudely interrupted by a phone call from Miss Moneypenny but the Professor still managed to make her impression.

Inga was portrayed by Danish actress and model Cecilie Thomsen, while the role of Bond went to the one and only Pierce Brosnan. Thomsen is another Bond girl who did not have much of an acting career following the film. She did appear in numerous Danish projects however her mark internationally stayed within the Bond franchise.

Tina Hudson as Bianca, 1983

Bianca was an intelligence operative employed by the British Secret Service. In the film Octopussy, she is assigned to aid Bond upon his arrival to Latin America. She provides Bond with a disguise, fake mustache and all, in order to look the part of Colonel Luis Toro.

Bond’s cover gets blown however but manages to escape, thanks to Bianca’s seductive get-away tactics, namely distracting the guards with her bare thighs. The role of Bianca went to an unknown actress named Tina Hudson. Hudson, who acted opposite Roger Moore as Bond, has no other roles to speak of since her time as Bianca.
