This real-life Cinderella story is truly a tale we only hear about in movies. When this local bread seller was going about her day, she had no idea that her life was going to be completely transformed. And while we all dream of one day being discovered on a whim, no one really expects these kinds of things to happen in real life.
It all started when musician Tinie Tempah flew in from England to his parents’ home country of Nigeria. On the trip, he was accompanied by fellow musician and professional photographer Ty Bello. Tempah had recruited Bello to put on a photoshoot during his trip.
In one photo, however (see above), a local bread seller caught both their eyes, and they were instantly memorized by her photogenic presence. “She just happened to be walking by while I photographed,” Bello later wrote on her Instagram. “Who is she? Everyone has been asking if this lady is a model… It was just perfect coincidence,” She added. Bello knew that she had to track this woman down.
The Search for Olajumoke
After seeing the photo, Bello was set on finding the bread seller. She had a good feeling about the woman and wanted to offer to build a portfolio for her. Unfortunately, she had no idea where to find her. So she did what anyone would do this day and age, and she called on the internet to help track her down.
As always, the internet prevailed and Bello found the bread seller, a 27-year-old mother of two, Olajumoke Orisaguna. Once she was approached by Bello, Orisaguna embraced the opportunity with open arms. And it’s a good thing too. Not only was she gifted with a photoshoot to start her portfolio, but the photos also turned out so good that new doors were bound to open from there.
Becoming a Signed Model
As expected, the photos that Bello took of Orisaguna were absolutely gorgeous. The bread seller was a true natural. It almost seemed like she had been doing this modeling thing for years. She even featured her 14-month-old baby in the shoot and as you can see below, the photos are stunning.
The photoshoot was such a success that her photos were featured in the Nigerian publication This Day Style. And the story does not end there. Orisaguna was such a sensation in Nigeria that she was approached by a local modeling agency, Few Models Management who then signed her to their talent. Something tells us this will not be the last we see of Orisaguna.
