Kylie Jenner is on track to become the youngest billionaire in history. The 20-year-old has a high social media following which she uses to advertise her latest products. With the help from her mother, Kris, Kylie has managed to create a company worth millions with only 12 employees. How does she do it?

What were you doing when you were 20 years-old? Going to school, working, and traveling the globe are all typical answers that might come to mind. One 20-year-old isn’t exactly doing that.

Kylie Jenner is the youngest member of the Kardashian-Jenner family. Jenner is doing what her half-sister Kim did for booty for full lips. She has utilized her resources to gain fame and money through her company.

Jenner turned 21 in August of 2018 but was put on Forbes billionaires list when she was still 20. Jenner is already a mother to a baby named Stormi. She still manages to juggle mothering and running one of the largest makeup companies today. Forbes estimated her company’s value at around $800 million which put Jenner on their list of self-made billionaires.

What’s even more impressive is that Jenner owns her entire company and still has total control of it. She’s also made a significant amount of money from TV programs and clothing endorsements which puts her total worth around $900 million. If her momentum keeps going at this rate, she’ll be the youngest self-made billionaire, beating Mark Zuckerberg.

Who Do They Have to Thank for Their Fortune?

All young billionaires in today’s modern times pretty much owe a majority of their success to social media. “I have such easy access to my fans and my customers,” Jenner says. I guess she really does owe a thank you to Mark Zuckerberg who created Facebook.

The Company that Created a Billion-Dollar Empire

What might come as a surprise to you is that Kylie’s company is only 12 people. 7 full-time and 5 part-time employees work. The production of the actual products done by a private-label producer in California and her mother, Kris, handles the Finance and PR.

Most of the advertisements for the lip kits consist of Jenner going on her social media platforms and taking pouting selfies and quick videos describing what shade she’s using. She has over 110 million Instagram followers and even more than that on Snapchat.

Fame Was Expected From Kylie at a Young Age

Kylie was always expected to rise to fame and fortune. Since the age of 10, she has always been on camera. She started wearing makeup in 6th grade to boost her confidence. Jenner’s lips were something she was always self-conscious about and quickly realized that by applying lip liner above her lip line would give the impression of a fuller lip.


When people started the Kylie Lip Challenge as a joke to make their lips bigger, Kylie’s mom saw an opportunity to turn the joke into a million dollar company. Today, we can see just how popular the company and brand became. Some people think that the momentum of this company can’t last forever but others beg to differ. As of right now, Kylie is a 20-year-old making millions so I don’t think she’s worried.
