The Scandal and Scoop on Sex and the City’s Return to the Screen

In the words of the iconic character Carrie Bradshaw, “They say nothing lasts forever; dreams change, trends come and go, but friendships never go out of style.” This message couldn’t be more true or applicable both on and off the screen. If there’s any lesson learned from the ending of the popular Sex and the City Series, it’s that the story of friendship is never really over.

After what seemed like a lifetime, the long-awaited return of seeing your favorite city girls on the screen is happening. They’ve endured every broken heart and failure while celebrating the successes and gifts of life this world has to offer. The raw emotion and realistic storyline are what connected hundreds of thousands of viewers to this show, making its comeback that much more special – especially after a year like 2020.

What Is Sex and the City Without Samantha?

While the show is promised to fulfill all of the essential components of these glamorous women’s lives, there will be one part of this story that won’t quite be the same. Kim Cattrall, also known as the legendary Samantha Jones, will not be a part of this next chapter. When the cameras were rolling, these four divas looked like the closest friends, but offset, rumor has it that tension was in the air, and friction was often found.

When asked about ending her time as Samantha, Kim said “It was a blessing in so many ways but after the second movie I’d had enough.” Combating Instagram comments, Sarah Jessica Parker stated “No. I don’t dislike her. I’ve never said that. Never would,” the actress wrote. “Samantha isn’t part of this story. But she will always be part of us. No matter where we are or what we do.”

And Just Like That, the Story Continues

This was the opening line for the Instagram teaser of the show, posted by Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, and Kristin Davis – also known as Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte. The show in fact will be called And Just Like That and will showcase how these friends are navigating life in their 50s.
